Letter From Management
CMP Group has been publishing its Sustainability Report for ten consecutive years. During this period, we have collectively faced geopolitical risks such as tariffs and trade wars, thepandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war, inflation, rising awareness of environmental and human rights issues, and the rapid emergence of AI. These shifts have not only intensified volatility in the economy and markets but also accelerated talent turnover, challenging the ability of enterprises to respond with agility and drive innovation. Yet, it is precisely these challenges that highlight the importance of what we have accomplished over the past decade: redefining our core values to steer the Group’s direction, reshaping our corporate culture to become an organization that braves to challenge the status quo, and redesigning work structures and policies, to create a more attractive and flexible working environment that attracts and retains top talent. These efforts have been key to ensuring our continued operation and growth.
⬗ Anchoring Our Business Vision: Cultivating a Corporate Culture That Embraces Challenge
In the course of corporate development, it is inevitable to encounter shocks brought about by the industrial environment and social trends. The ability to foresee and proactively build resilience in response to these changes tests a company’s sensitivity to external developments, its boldness to innovate, and its determination to execute thoroughly.
Since its founding in 1972 with the metal manufacturing business, CMP Group has continually challenged itself— breaking away from the traditional image of the sandcasting trade and positioning itself as a “Circular Economy Practitioner” centered on clean and automated production. In 2002, we expanded our business to the real estate development sector, striving to balance environmental concerns with housing needs. On this earthquake-prone island of Taiwan, we have committed to being a “Friendly Living Environment Provider,” building century-lasting residences that offer peace of mind to occupants while minimizing environmental footprints. In 2008, CMP Group further expanded into the realm of lifestyle innovation. In a consumer-driven commercial district economy, we boldly allocated resources to become a “Sustainable Living Promoter.” By collaborating with hundreds of local shops, we created a lifestyle district that preserves local culture, resists the typical decline of commercial areas, and pursues long-term shared prosperity.
⬗ Nurturing a Fertile Ground for Careers: A Sustainable Engine Driving Growth of Talent
In response to declining birth rates and the need to develop talent aligned with the Group’s vision, we are actively advancing SDG 4: Quality Education. Beyond knowledge management and succession planning, we provide systematic training through internal instructors and courses, and we leverage technological tools to redesign workflows and reduce workload. This allows employees to broaden and deepen their career development through participation in more challenging projects. In addition, through long-term partnerships with 43 universities and colleges, we have cultivated 1,910 professionals with hands-on experience for the industry—92 of whom have become key members of the Group.
Furthermore, responding to SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing and SDG 5: Gender Equality, CMP Group spares no effort in enhancing its employee benefits. These include fully paid family care leave and menstrual leave, flexible working hours, a NT$100,000 wedding subsidy, up to NT$360,000 in childcare subsidies, and planed vacation subsidy. We also provide health checkup subsidies and one-on-one consultation services through professional institutions, effectively addressing the needs of employees at different life stages and achieving the goals of recruiting key talent and ensuring stable retention.
⬗ Deepening Professional Foundations to Embrace the Flourishing Results of Transformation
As our initiatives progress, we have moved from transparent information disclosure in accordance with GRI and SASB standards to conducting climate risk assessments guided by the TCFD framework— laying the foundation for future reporting under the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards. In our operations, we focus on SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. These efforts have not only earned CMP Group the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA) Sustainability Report Gold Award for four consecutive years, but also signify the milestone achievements we have made in our sustainable development journey. Since 2021, the Group has undertaken a comprehensive inventory of greenhouse gas emissions and the carbon footprints of its products and services. In recent years, we have also begun evaluating and applying for voluntary carbon reduction projects, aiming to enhance the effectiveness and impact of our various energy-saving and carbon-reduction initiatives.
Circular Economy Practitioner – Metal Manufacturing
In 2024, the average proportion of raw materials sourced from reclaimed steel reached 95.54%, with the highest single-plant rate at 99.99%. A total of 39 low-carbon measures were implemented in the production process, resulting in a reduction of 29.06 million kWh of electricity and 11,968 tons of CO2e emissions. The recycling and reuse rate of non-hazardous waste reached 99.63%, fully achieving waste resource recovery. CMP Group was also awarded Taiwan’s first Green Foundry Label by the Taiwan Casting Industry Association, setting an industry benchmark.
Friendly Living Environment Provider – Land Development
In addition to incorporating earthquake early warning systems and structural health monitoring into each construction project, CMP Group also provides ongoing inspections of public facilities and buildings for completed communities, creating safe and comfortable living environments for our clients. The CMP Midtown project, completed in 2024, has received both the Gold-Level Green Building Label and the Intelligence Building Gold Label, and was awarded the Excellence Award in the Best Planning and Design category at the 2024 Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Awards. The under-construction “Vision Utmost” is expected to obtain the Level 1 Low-carbon Building Candidate Certificate and Label. Meanwhile, CMP Midtown II has been awarded the 3-Star Certification from Fitwel, an international healthy building certification system jointly promoted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the General Services Administration (GSA), making it a top-tier project awarded the highest rating in the global real estate market.
Sustainable Living Promoter – Lifestyle Innovation
In 2024, CMP Group celebrated the grand opening of the long-anticipated InterContinental Taichung, CMP Block Museum of Arts, and 0km Mountain Museum, while successfully launching the brand of CMP Park Lane. These outstanding achievements earned 12 prestigious domestic and international awards, including the 2024 Smart City Outstanding Contribution Award, the 2024 TCSA Creativity in Communication Award, and the 2024 Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards (TSAA) Gold Award. As the results of these innovative initiatives continue to generate spillover effects, they have attracted numerous visits and exchanges from teams across industry, government, academia, and research, setting a new benchmark for regional development.
CMP Group’s transformation has made modest progress thus far, but as we look ahead to the coming year, we choose to encourage ourselves with the character “孜” (zi). This character not only represents tireless and persistent effort, but also reflects our hope that we remain focused, dedicated, and unwilling to give up in our work. It serves as a reminder that whether facing a challenging economic climate or a constantly evolving market, we must continue striving, stay vigilant, and not only adapt to change—but also find opportunities within it—to become a leading enterprise.
