CMP PUJEN Foundation for Arts and Culture
Supporting culture and arts creators and strengthening people's connection to achieve aesthetic life for all.
CMP Group upholds the spirit of humanity to give back to society for fulfilling corporate social responsibilities. Therefore, in 2010, the CMP PUJEN Foundation for Arts and Culture was founded to uncover local cultural potential with the theme of life and creativity. We have seen the growing momentum for the art and cultural creation from various projects such as CMP Block, Street CMP Block+ Program Calligraphy Greenway Santa Go Fun Run,CMP Block Museum of Arts, Green Ripples Festival, Parklane Santa Village, the Jen Library, Everyday ART, Kong-Ke Museum, the Forest BIG X Bleu & Book. Each of these projects can reflect each creator's efforts- the utilization of each maker space, the profound meanings of each exhibition and event, and the engagement and feedback from all participants.
CMP INSPIRATION
The birthplace of inspiration and the gateway to imagination.
Opened in 2024, CMP INSPIRATION is a cultural venue where neighborhood, nature, and art converge in harmony. Designed by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, it is his first cultural project in Taiwan. Inspired by the concept of “lifting the earth,” the architecture incorporates Kuma’s signature karakusa (scrolling vine) motifs to create an organic connection with the surrounding cityscape. Inside, interwoven curves and fluid forms evoke a mountain-like spatial experience, extending the building’s rhythm and transparency.
CMP INSPIRATION traces its roots back to 2010 with the launch of the CMP Block Taichung Cultural Aesthetic Zone, which earned the CommonWealth Magazine CSR Award in 2011. In 2012, the CMP Block Museum of Arts was officially founded—redefining art as a neighborhood experience, where creativity and aesthetics connect people, places, and everyday life.
In 2019, the museum initiated the Kong-Ke Museum project, transforming a construction site into a public art space under the concept “the construction office is also a museum.” This innovative approach broke down barriers and opened the street to shared cultural engagement—earning recognition from the Good Design Award (Japan, 2020), the iF Design Award (Germany, 2021), and the A’ Design Award (Europe, 2021).
Guided by the CMP PUJEN Foundation for Arts and Culture, CMP INSPIRATION continues to champion the power of imagination—bridging disciplines, translating creativity into life, and opening new possibilities for how we experience art in the everyday.
CMP INSPIRATION Museum Network
With the opening of CMP INSPIRATION, we have gradually launched the Museum Network, cultivating and fermenting across diverse venues. These spaces are not merely physical sites, but the starting points for spreading cultural seeds—
We believe that art should not only be experienced within the walls of a building, but, like light, should shine into every corner of daily life. Through these diverse museum practices, we are committed to enhancing cultural, environmental, and sustainable values.
This is an unfolding from the inside out: we aim to broaden perspectives, allowing audiences to discover new possibilities; to make culture approachable and accessible, no longer distant; and to open spaces through mutual symbiosis, where art and environment, people and cities, are connected and breathe together.
CMP’s artistic practice is a co-creative journey of life, land, and imagination.
Block Museum
Transforming the Neighborhood into a Cultural Stage for Ideal Living
The Block Museum is a long-term art initiative based in the CMP Green Park Lane neighborhood of Taichung. Jointly curated by CMP Group and the CMP PUJEN Foundation for Arts and Culture, the project integrates interdisciplinary artistic practices with neighborhood placemaking, aiming to shape a cultural landscape that reflects an ideal way of life.
Since its launch in 2020, the Satoyama 12 Public Art Project has invited Taiwanese artists annually over a twelve-year span to create site-specific public artworks. Through cross-disciplinary interpretations of native species and land-based issues, the project raises awareness of environmental and sustainability topics—envisioning a future where art, culture, and nature flourish in harmony.
Completed works include pieces centered around native wildlife such as the Red-bellied Squirrel, Taiwan Water Buffalo, Leopard Cat, Hare, and Pangolin, reimagined through diverse artistic styles by creators including Chihong Chuang of googoods, artists Che-Jung Liu and Ssu-Ying Lin, ZAMAMA|Ming-Yu Hsiao and Yu-Chuan Chen, Kuan-Chung Lai of ART ROUGE SCULPTURE CO, and Yeh Chang.
This twelve-year initiative continues to grow, introducing new public artworks and partnering with major events like the Summer Festival and Christmas Village, bringing vibrant creative energy into the neighborhood. In doing so, it transforms the CMP Green Park Lane into an open-air museum without walls—one that coexists naturally with everyday life.
Notably, artist Lin Shuen Long contributed Bathing in Light, a work inspired by the concept of the “Tree of Life,” symbolizing a cultural ecosystem nurtured by the interweaving of humanity, art, and nature along the Calligraphy Greenway. The latest 2025 addition, Rhythmic Steps Like Musical Notes by Chihong Chuang, invites passersby to move instinctively with the artwork’s rhythm—experiencing the energy of art as it flows through everyday life.
The Vertical Museum
A Cultural Gallery Merging Taiwan’s Ecology and Contemporary Art
Hidden within InterContinental Taichung, the Vertical Museum draws inspiration from Taiwan’s diverse ecosystems across low, mid, and high altitudes. Blending natural imagery with refined contemporary aesthetics, the museum transforms the hotel into a living gallery of ecological art. Opening at the end of 2024, it features 110 artworks by four Taiwanese and international artist teams, including Petra Krausova, Yung-Ling Tseng, Ming-Yu Hsiao, and Yu-Chuan Chen.
The collection reflects the richness of Taiwan’s landscapes—featuring four mountain ranges, ten geological formations, four rare minerals, thirty native plant and fungal species, and over twenty species of butterflies, birds, and animals—turning the hotel into a parallel dimension of nature and imagination.
Each floor presents a unique theme: the second floor highlights rare birds such as the Formosan Blue Magpie, Taiwan Barbet, and Mikado Pheasant; the third floor banquet and conference area celebrates Taiwan’s vibrant butterfly ecology; while guestroom levels showcase lowland flora and the Crested Goshawk, embodying calm and strength.
From the lobby to each corridor, InterContinental Taichung offers guests a vertical journey through Taiwan’s natural beauty—where art and hospitality merge into a seamless, everyday experience.

SPORT 2GO
Bringing Fitness to Every Corner of the City
Tackling the issue of low physical activity among Taiwanese people, SPORT 2GO explores how to activate spontaneous fitness moments in urban settings—before regular workout habits take root. Whether on a weeknight after work or while strolling on weekends, this project makes smart use of time and space to create unexpected, everyday exercise experiences in the city.
Designed by Chuang Chi-Hung, Creative Director of googoods design, SPORT 2GO adopts a modular approach to sports infrastructure. Each activity unit can be deployed individually or as a cluster—and the entire setup can be packed onto a single transportable truck, allowing fitness installations to pop up in underused city spaces at any time.
Five exercise stations are installed here, integrated into a landscape surrounded by restaurants, bars, and cafes. It’s a space where you can sprint hard, jump high, eat wildly, and drink freely—an underground playground that invites both action and indulgence.
Each station displays estimated calorie burn to encourage participation, while motion-activated lighting sets the rhythm and energy of the night—making fitness a playful, urban celebration.

Forest Museum
0km: A Gateway to Urban Mountains and Nature
0km officially opened on March 21, 2024, as a gateway to the mountains within the city—a place where everyday life meets the beauty of Taiwan’s natural landscapes. Though compact in size, Taiwan is covered by forests on more than 60.7% of its land and boasts a biodiversity over 150 times richer than the global average. This ecological abundance is one of Taiwan’s greatest treasures, and learning to coexist sustainably with nature is a vital part of our shared future.
The site features four unique landscape zones that foster deeper connections between people and the environment. Multi-layered Woodland simulates post-disaster forest succession, creating an educational and richly layered ecosystem within the city. Inner Garden blends native Taiwanese flora with the aesthetics of Japanese gardens, evoking a shared botanical history. Second-growth Garden uses mirrored surfaces and regenerative plantings to express the forest's life cycle—linking the legacy of Taiwan’s camphor industry to sustainable forestry.
Good Times Alley features edible landscapes and ex-situ conservation, celebrating the harmony between urban alleyways and plant life.
In addition to the outdoor experience, six timber structures on-site support the theme of human-nature interaction: Cabins A and B are permanent select shops, Cabin C serves as a seasonal pop-up store, Cabin D hosts the Michelin Green Star restaurant Little Tree Food, Cabin E showcases domestic timber and forest-related materials, and Cabin F features rotating exhibitions by the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency.
Together, these spaces form a welcoming, immersive forest museum—an entry point into the rhythms of nature, starting from the heart of the city.
